This is all you need to see today!
Maybe it will look sentimental and cutesy to you, but this actually is a pretty dangerous situation in the wild.
Right now, we are discussing if this is the nature’s version of carpooling. Or should I say birdpooling?
Check it out:
The pictures were taken at Hornchurch Country Park in east London on Monday afternoon by amateur photographer Martin Le-May.
According to Mr. Martin, the story behind this scene is that the green woodpecker struggling to escape an attack by the weasel.
It might look cute, but this is just another day in the “wild” for these animals.
The picture below shows how the woodpecker is taking off, trying to shake the weasel off.
At the end, the woodpecker survived the confrontation. When they landed, the weasel ran off into the long grass.
Sharing his story with BBC news, Mr. Martin said:
“I heard a distressed squawking noise and feared the worst.
“I soon realised it was a woodpecker with some kind of small mammal on its back.
“I think we may have distracted the weasel as when the woodpecker landed it managed to escape and the weasel ran into the grass.”
This is a BRAVE woodpecker…
